Synopsis
Better Connection was a new initiative to gage the connectivity status and promote better services in the Southern Tier 8 Region Region. We were tasked in developing a platform to engage the public to participant and upload information to gather data.
Challenge
The challenge was to get people to participate in this data collection and share with their neighbors. Nobody is excited to fill out a form just because we ask them to. It was imperative to create something that grabs their attention and ignites engagement.
Creation
We accomplished this by creating a full, disgruntle narrative something that many rural residents feel when it comes to connectivity. By attaching this frustrated emotion, it incited many to laugh and want to engage with the program.
Let's get to the point.
Our naming and logo design approach was intended to be simple, bold, and no fuss. The target audience are mainly rural people that are not interested in fluff and having to read between the lines. We wanted to speak to them directly and address the problem in an instance. By using the word connection instead of broadband, we outline right at the offset that this is what we are talking about. And the word better is simply addressing what they don’t have, good internet access and services and how they deserve better.
Connecting away.
Tech blue to give that pop of energy over the gray.
It’s about you.
Direct connection with the user. It’s about them, no fuss, no fluff. Get their attention and turn into conversions.
Print revolution.
Printed collateral packet includes large posters for events, as well as 11x17 posters for businesses and stores, business cards leave behind, 4x6 leave behind postcards and printed form for folks that live in rural areas. This was to be used by partners and ambassadors of the brand to spread the word with their constituents.
Frustration that leads to solutions.
The frustrated comical narratives guides the navigation and leads the user to want to participate. The UX design, story telling, and development is the engine that makes this brand a success. By developing an interactive yet easy-to -use interface and outstanding programming with dynamic back-end, this is really a smooth data collection machine that is user friendly for visitors as well as for management to track the engagement and growth of the program in the back-end.
