Synopsis
To create an app that excites concert goers to not only enjoy the symphony but to interact with the music. And also to keep them excited to explore the city.
Challenge
Classical music is a hard thing to get new user to engage with. So how do we attract, engage, grow, and retain that interest?
Creation
We partnered with the Philharmonic to design and develop a custom iPad app that reimagines the concert experience. During performances, the app syncs with the orchestra—highlighting instrument changes, explaining musical styles, and guiding users through each piece. At intermission, it unlocks to showcase upcoming concerts, venue specials, and curated local deals for dining, hotels, and shopping—encouraging guests to extend their evening and explore the city. The goal: educate, engage, and make the symphony a destination.

A launch event held in a historic downtown landmark—uniting the heritage of space and sound. Guests experienced the app live on iPads, accompanied by a full interactive presentation, live symphony performance, custom signage, and curated food and drink.
