Southern Tier 8 Regional Board is the regional economic development organization leading community, infrastructure, and investment development in 8 counties in Upstate New York.
Synopsis
Hue was brought in to rebrand and essential position the brand.
Challenge
How to make economic development across 8 counties exciting, beautiful, and engaging.
Creation
We developed a new light, fresh look that touches on the feeling of possibilities which equals growth. Designed a new, modern look along with progress inspired colors and new tagline and messaging. Along with that all of the deliverables of a full brand launch: brand, corp it, brochures, reports, digital and more.
Clean. Fresh. Modern.
Our approach to the Southern Tier 8 logo was to evoke a clean, modern, forward-thinking feel that showcases the innovative vision and initiatives of the organization. Also, this brand is the “mothership” of many off-shoot programs, so this logo has to live often with many other branded projects and also along dozens of partners logos throughout the region. This modern and clean approach was a key strategic design direction, so the logo stands out among the clutter while also being complementary with the various other branded programs.
Merging the past with the now.
Our approach to the brand color selection was to connect the previously used navy blue but selecting a darker more tone that evokes more stability, along with the pop digital blue green to bring out the current factor of the brand, and keeping it mostly white to give the brand that forward thinking feel.
As succinct as one, two, three.
Each of these words tells the story of what ST8 in a nut-shell…initiatives, regional leadership, involved, and finger in the pulse on all things economic development for the region.
Light and bright.
As a government agency, we wanted to keep it clean and modern to match the forward-thinking work that this organization is involved with in the region.
Pretty data that engages.
Developed a succinct content strategy and creative copy writing so the entire content would live under these three words: ACTIVE. REGIONAL. NOW. Our focus was to excite the user with it's clean, fresh design that leads to rewarding data such as the initiatives, projects, county data, that allows for a great overview of the region and leads to interest in the development in the area.
